It’s the ultimate STEM summer camp for girls – Excite Camp! Open to Maui County middle school students (grades 7-8), the primary goal of Excite Camp is to inspire, educate, and expose our youth to STEM careers.

Participants have an opportunity to:

• Explore Hawaiian culture past and present

• Empower themselves with the latest STEM technologies and resources

• Engage in fun hands-on activities

• Discover exciting STEM careers

• Investigate and analyze scientific methods

The four day program, which typically takes place in June, accepts 20 middle school girls from Maui County each year. Participants will enjoy fun and challenging hands-on STEM projects and take onsite tours of local high tech organizations and companies. Activities and field trips also include lessons on Hawaiian culture, protocols, language, and historical technologies.

Because of their under-representation in STEM fields, Native Hawaiians, girls, and other minority groups are given preference during the application process.
