Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Each February, STEMworks™offers our popular Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED). Held in conjunction with National Engineering Week, IGED is organized and hosted by STEMworks™.

IGED was created to:

  • expose girls to the field of engineering

  • encourage participants to pursue engineering and technology careers

  • raise awareness of the contributions engineers make to the community

This memorable day-long event typically includes an educational video showcasing the various types of engineering careers, as well as a fun, hands-on engineering activities. This virtual event is free and open to 6th - 8th grade girls!

Event Agenda:

  • 9-9:15 am - Welcome and Information about Engineering

  • 9:15-9:45 am - Panel or Breakout Rooms with Female Engineers

  • 9:45-10:15 am - Panel or Breakout Rooms with Female Students in Engineering

  • 10:15-11:00 am - Hands-on Activity
