Engineering Design Process (K-5 or Beginners)


New Tools for your Youngest Learners!

Introduce your students to the Engineering Design Process, EDP, with engaging and hands-on lessons! The lessons are based on a storybook and include vocabulary words and discussion questions from the story. Students are introduced the STEM career that was highlighted in the story. Each lesson contains hands-on activities for the student’s to practice EDP and HAVE FUN!!

Kindergarten and 1st grade students “play” the Rolling Ball Challenge.  the students learn  to work together and communicate.  THe challenge: Use a single piece of paper to transfer a ping pong ball from one friend to the next.  The last friend rolls the ball into the cup.

High School Mentor and student work together for the “10 Apples on Top” STEM challenge.  The student tries to stack and balance 10 small objects on a plate on their head.  Their partner communicates to them to make adjustments.  Students took the challenge further and tried walking with the plate using no hands or even doing a “bob and Weave.”
